Forgetting Myself

My vaporous brain keeps forgetting what I’m trying to do

This is the third time this week that it’s happened.

I sit down at the computer after having a great thought about a subject for an article, and then it’s gone.

Poof.

Just…gone…

It was there an hour ago when I was thinking about subjects and how to better expand my expertise in my field.

It was there 30 minutes ago when I was putting dishes in the dishwasher and opening up some windows to get some cool air flowing through our warm apartment.

But could I recall it when I sat down at the computer?

Nope.

I know that it’s a symptom of my ADHD, that things will slip through my brain if I don’t write them down.

I haven’t been very good at that lately, writing things down.

Seems that I forget to do that too…

It can’t be that I’m getting older, I’m not even 45 yet.

It is surely this sieve that is my brain that holds onto really amazing, incredible ideas for a few minutes and then sends them off into the ether — never to be seen again.

Oh well.

It will come back.

Or it won’t.

Either way, there will be something to write about tomorrow — new or old.
