Nothing Has Changed
But my earnings are down 90%
It’s been interesting to watch the comments and articles about this platform over the years. I’ve been here since early 2019, writing more or less often as life (and sometimes inspiration) has allowed.
I am far from successful on this platform. My statistics will bear this out…
I’m still floating just under 1,000 followers even though I’d expected to pass that by the end of last year.
I’ve had one big earning story that brought me over $700, one that brought me just under $50, and a third that has earned me just over $30.
Beyond that most of my stories over the years have accumulated less than $10 with a few between $10-$20.
Medium is not an income driver for me.
I never expected it to be. My big earning story was a total surprise that I think was driven mostly by engagement from Apple enthusiasts and haters alike.
I’ve always been here for more of the conversation, engagement, and to read other people’s works. I think it is important to read widely, and Medium provides one of the best opportunities on the internet to do that.
But the money was a nice little treat every month.
